A busy stand makes good photos, but clients increasingly ask what an activation actually achieved. Without an app, it can feel hard to show. In practice, the simplest evidence comes from asking people to take one clear action, and counting it.
Decide what engagement means
Before the activation, agree with the client what you will count. Common options:
- Sign-ups to a mailing list or competition.
- Form completions, such as a quick survey or sample request.
- Visits to a campaign page or offer.
Give people one clear action
A touchpoint that opens a short page with one obvious next step works better than a page full of options. If the goal is sign-ups, make the form short and put it at the top.
Tag your links
Add campaign parameters (UTM tags) to the links on your activation page, for example the source, the event and the campaign. The client's analytics can then separate activation traffic from everything else.
Report actions, not impressions
After the activation, share the numbers you agreed: sign-ups, form completions and tagged visits, alongside photos and your footfall estimate. It gives the client something concrete to compare with other channels.
How TAPP helps
TAPP touchpoints at a pop-up open a branded page with no app, where people can follow links, sign up or complete forms on the spot. Ask us what reporting is available for your activation.
