Who we are
This website, www.thetapp.co.uk, is run by TAPP Directory Ltd, a company registered in Northern Ireland (company number NI709702), registered office 10 Craigowen Road, Holywood BT18 0DL (“TAPP”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at Callan@thetapp.co.uk.
This policy covers this marketing website only. The TAPP experiences that guests open by tapping or scanning a TAPP touchpoint, and the TAPP app used by businesses, have their own privacy information.
What we collect
- Enquiries. When you send the contact form we receive what you enter: your name, email address, organisation, role, location, the type of enquiry and your message. We also receive the page you sent it from and, if present, the campaign tags in the link you followed (for example utm_source), the first page you visited on this site and the name of the website that referred you.
- Emails. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and time) to deliver and secure the site.
- Analytics, only if you accept. If you choose Accept in our cookie banner, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity collect information about how you use the site: pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, approximate location (country and city), device and browser, and how you arrived. Clarity may record your mouse movements and clicks as a session replay; text typed into form fields is masked and not recorded. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, these tools do not run.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, to discuss or provide TAPP: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract.
- To record enquiries in our sales system so we can follow them up and understand which campaigns bring enquiries: our legitimate interests in running and improving our business.
- To run and secure the website: our legitimate interests.
- For analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer.
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising profiles. We will only send you marketing emails if the law allows it and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:
- Formspree, which receives contact form submissions and sends them to us by email (United States).
- Google, which provides our email (Gmail) and, if you accept analytics, Google Analytics.
- Microsoft, which provides Microsoft Clarity if you accept analytics.
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts and delivers this website.
- Odoo, the customer relationship management system in which we record enquiries.
We may also share data where the law requires it, or with professional advisers.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the protections the law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified) or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and related emails: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer, in which case we keep what we need for the customer relationship and our legal obligations.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months. Microsoft Clarity data: in line with Clarity’s standard retention (currently up to 13 months for aggregated data and 30 days for most recordings).
- Server logs: for the period our hosting provider keeps them for security and operation.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site sets no analytics cookies unless you choose Accept. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*, and Microsoft Clarity sets cookies such as _clck and _clsk. We store your choice in your browser (as tapp-consent) so we do not ask again on every page. You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer, or by clearing your browser’s site data.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or move it to another provider. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, email Callan@thetapp.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
We will update this page if how we use personal data changes, and change the date at the top.
