How events can share agendas, speakers and feedback with one tap

How event organisers can use NFC and QR touchpoints on badges and signage to share the agenda, speaker profiles, sponsor content and feedback forms, with no app.

Audience at a conference talk

Events move fast. Sessions shift, rooms change and attendees want the right information at the right moment. Many events ask people to download an app for this, but plenty of attendees never do. A tap-to-open page gives everyone the same information from their phone's browser, with nothing to install.

What should attendees be able to open?

  • Agenda: the running order, with times and rooms.
  • Speakers: short profiles, photos and links.
  • Venue information: maps, Wi-Fi, accessibility and facilities.
  • Sponsors: who is supporting the event and how to find them.
  • Feedback: a quick rating or form for each session or the day as a whole.

Where should touchpoints go?

Think about where attendees are when they have a question:

  • Badges and lanyards: the agenda is always with them.
  • Registration desks: the first place people look for Wi-Fi and maps.
  • Session signage: outside each room, for speaker details and feedback.
  • Sponsor stands: so visitors can open sponsor content on the spot.

Include a QR code next to each tag so phones without NFC can still open the page.

Keep it live on the day

Printed programmes cannot change once the doors open. A web page can. If a session moves or a speaker changes, update the page and everyone who taps sees the new information straight away.

Collect feedback in the moment

Feedback is most useful when it is fresh. A short rating or form, opened from a tag on the way out of a session, is easier to complete than an email that arrives days later. Keep it to a few questions so people finish it.

How TAPP helps

TAPP turns badges, lanyards and signage into touchpoints that open your event page with a tap or scan. You can share the agenda, speaker profiles, sponsor content, Wi-Fi and a quick event rating from one page, and update it from your account during the event.

Checklist for organisers

  1. Decide the five things attendees ask about most.
  2. Build one page that answers them, with the agenda at the top.
  3. Place touchpoints on badges, at registration and outside each room.
  4. Test a tap and a scan on both iPhone and Android before doors open.
  5. Assign one person to update the page on the day.

Questions

Do attendees need an event app?
No. Attendees tap or scan and the page opens in their phone's browser.
Can I change the agenda during the event?
Yes. If the page is editable, as TAPP pages are, changes are live straight away for everyone who taps or scans.
What if an attendee's phone does not support NFC?
Add a QR code next to each tag. It opens the same page with the phone's camera.
